Feather Handguards Technical

The "Feather" line of Carbon Fiber Hand guards started when James and Mark had a conversation about their ideas for a carbon fiber hand guard with Bob Novak of Techwear.  He wanted the benefits of carbon fiber in a hand guard; however he could not find a solution to attach to his JP rifle.  At the time, you had to use the nut system of another maker, sometimes permanently gluing the hand guard in place, which destroyed the modularity of the system.  Beven Grams had made Bob some tubes, but the cost of those designs was prohibitive.  Bob explained his desire and frustrations to Mark and James at the 2010 SMM3G match.   They had been considering development of modular carbon fiber hand guards independently and continued with some R&D.  Bob got the 5th version of our prototype at the 2011 SHOT show in Vegas, and he was pleased with the result.  Now, after almost a year of development, numerous prototypes, thermal and durability testing, and yes even hitting softballs in the batting cage with the hand guards, the hand guard you have been waiting for is here!

We are currently in development of other versions as well as methods for mounting of accessories on the Carbon Feather tubes.
